Renaissance of the Ruins

In conjunction with the 2010 Venice Architecture Biennale and the release of the C-Lab certified issue of Volume, Counterculture, the editorial board of the magazine – Rem Koolhaas, Mark Wigley, Jeffrey Inaba and Arjen Oosterman – discussed the curatorial themes of the Dutch Pavilion, Vacant NL, onsite. The pavilion, curated by Rietveld Landscape and commissioned by the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi), addressed the vast amount of vacant buildings and spaces across the Netherlands, and set forth a context to address architecture’s role in reimagining social spaces.

Click the video still to the right for the full recording of the discussion, which was moderated by NAi director, Ole Bouman, and took place on August 28, 2010.
