C-Lab Awarded LA 2050 grant with partners Community Health Councils and 596 Acres LA Open Acres, a partnership between LA's Community Health Councils, C-Lab, and the 596 Acres Project, was announced today as a winner of the LA2050 Challenge. We are honored to be selected and are thrilled to be working with such great partners. Many thanks to those who voted and to the Goldhirsh Foundation for recognizing us. We're excited to get to work on this important project, which will create an online database of vacant lots in LA, and facilitate the transformation of the city’s thousands of acres of vacant and underutilized land into vibrant, green, community-oriented public spaces. Adaptation: Architecture, Technology and the City Adaptation, a new book by Jeffrey Inaba's architectural consultancy INABA in collaboration with FREE, was launched on December 12, 2012 at the Guggenheim in New York. Bringing together a host of interviews, contributions, and art works, the book is a preliminary study of digital technology in the built environment. More information here.
